The 16th International Seagrass Biology Workshop (ISBW16) and 2027 World Seagrass Conference (WSC2027)

The theme of Seagrass Resilience: Protecting Biodiversity, Securing Our Future, for ISBW16 and WSC2027 taking place in Abu Dhabi 22-26 March 2027, stems from the urgent need to address the escalating pressures on seagrass ecosystems worldwide. As biodiversity hotspots and vital providers of ecosystem services, seagrasses are under threat from climate change, habitat destruction, pollution, and unsustainable human activities. These challenges are testing the resilience of seagrass ecosystems, pushing them to adapt to unprecedented conditions.

The global challenge is to understand, protect, and enhance the resilience of seagrass ecosystems to ensure their survival and the countless benefits they provide to both nature and humanity.
